Seeking solitude

Seeking solitude

As a young boy, I found myself raised in two diametrically opposed worlds; five days a week I lived within the narrow confines of a catholic boarding school; then over the weekend, I escaped into the African savanna, equipped with a machete and slingshot, and an old mongrel for company.  Over time, I developed and refined my tracking and survival skills that came in handy during latter years while serving mandatory military service in Sub-Saharan Africa. Today, I yearn for open spaces far from the madding crowd; to immerse myself in nature and enjoy life.
